Grant for Young Investigators (aka. Best presentation prize)

As usual, we would like to honour the excellence of our young colleagues. For this reason, we announce a best presentation competition for our authors (under 35).

Prize:

4 x 2500 €

Requirements:

  • an assigned 'Student' registration fee
  • a successfully submitted and accepted abstract

The best presentation will be evaluated by the Scientific Board, the winners will be awarded at the closing ceremony of the Workshop.

Abstract submission

All participants are invited to submit abstracts on one of the topics listed below for presentation at the 12th C1-inhibitor Deficiency and Angioedema Workshop. Submission of an abstract implies that the work described has not been published previously. Our materials will be published in a supplement of the journal Frontiers in Allergy.

Guidelines for preparation and submission of abstracts:
  • As a primary goal, the abstract should render the general significance and conceptual advance of the work clearly accessible to a broad readership. In the abstract, minimize the use of abbreviations and do not cite references, figures or tables.
  • For Clinical Trial articles, please include the Unique Identifier and the URL of the publicly accessible website on which the trial is registered.
  • Abstracts may be submitted via internet only. Abstracts submitted e-mail will not be accepted.
  • All abstracts must be submitted and presented in English using UK English spelling.
  • The abstract text may not be longer than 400 words.
  • Submission of an abstract implies that the work described has not been published previously.
  • The publisher of our abstracts (Frontiers in Allergy) uses plagiarism-detection software to identify duplicate content. Abstracts previously accepted and published by other organizations/societies will not be accepted. If an abstract submitted to the 12th C1-inhibitor Deficiency and Angioedema Workshop is accepted for programming and publication by another organization prior to its acceptance by the Workshop, it is the author’s responsibility to withdraw the abstract. Failure to do so may result in being eliminated from future abstract programming consideration.
  • Please read our guidelines carefully to submit a properly composed and formatted abstract.
Authors should indicate their presentation preference:
  • oral / poster presentation
  • poster only

The scientific board of the Workshop reserves the right to decide on the final allocation and presentation method.

Please, indicate which topic(s) you prefer, by checking the appropriate boxes, maximum three options can be assigned. After having submitted your abstract, you will receive an acknowledgement by e-mail, confirming the successful file upload (please make sure to register with your correct e-mail address!). Should you wish to make corrections to an abstract already submitted or if you wish to submit other abstracts later, you may simply upload a new file. Corrections to abstracts can only be made up to the extended deadline of 8 April 2021. If you do not receive a confirmation by e-mail please contact the organizers. Abstracts will be subject to a blind peer review by at least 3 experts. Authors will be notified on acceptance in April 2021 by e-mail. Full instructions concerning the preparation and presentation of their abstract will be given at this time. All presenting authors must register to attend the conference. One participant can be the presenting author of maximum two abstracts.

Frontiers in Allergy

Skin Allergy Section

The Skin Allergy section of Frontiers in Allergy encourages high-quality clinical and basic research submissions of manuscripts with the ultimate goal being to improve clinical outcomes in allergic skin diseases, to facilitate and stimulate knowledge sharing and research, particularly in translational approaches.

This Section is led by Dr. Bettina Wedi, from Hannover Medical School, who welcomes submissions of the following article types: Brief Research Report, Clinical Trial, Community Case Study, Correction, Editorial, General Commentary, Hypothesis and Theory, Methods, Mini Review, Opinion, Original Research, Perspective, Review, Specialty Grand Challenge, Study Protocol and Systematic Review.
