Dear Colleagues,

It is our great pleasure to invite you to the 12th C1-inhibitor Deficiency & Angioedema Workshop, which will take place between 3-6 June 2021, first time in the cyberspace.

Since your health and safety is extremely important for us, we decided not to organize a conventional Workshop in 2021, so in order to keep the our community together, we decided to step into the virtual world with our meeting this year.

In spite the way of realisation is brand new, our aim is the original, provide you with presentations and discussions of the latest scientific findings related to bradykinin-mediated angioedemas in the first place. It has long been known that in addition to C1-inhibitor deficiency, the background of these angioedematous disorders might also include further – genetic and other – factors.

Although the Workshop and its agenda focus on the latest scientific findings presented by the participants, we shall enrich the program of this four-day event by inviting a couple of leading experts. The outstanding research, the unique thinking, and the individual problem solving strategies of these professionals are exemplary and may have a stimulatory effect on the research activities of the participants.

The expected attendance includes academic researchers, medical practitioners, biochemists, pharmacologists, drug developers, health care professionals, patients, and the representatives of their self-help groups, who are interested in this specialty. Scientific abstracts relevant to the subject of the conference are welcome. Accordingly, presentations of the recent progress made in the field of bradykinin-mediated (C1-INH deficiency-based) hereditary and acquired angioedemas, hereditary angioedema with normal C1-inhibitor function, ACE-related, or idiopathic bardykinin-mediated angioedema, etc., are awaited. Based on the abstracts and on the presentations of the invited lecturers, the Scientific Committee will again be responsible for compiling the scientific program of the conference.

Our main objective is to maintain the high level of professional and scientific content in the cyberspace, too, or even raise the Workshop's quality by taking the advantages of virtual event. In addition to this, we will provide you with a lot of fun and surprises which aim to compensate you for the lack of the physical presence.

We hope to be able to show you a brand new way how great an online event can be. We encourage you to join us and also call your colleagues to attend.

We were, we are and we will be together!
